Vimeo, Year 3
Here is some test footage put together from me, I thought i had better get some experience in putting a film together so i put this video together. The footage its self has little relevance to our script at the moment.

here is an idea for some ambiant advertising for cityhop. The concept is the average auckland city commuter pays so much for parking just to avoid receiving a parking ticket for a short period of time. So by letting people see how much money they are spending each day on parking it would hopefully make them take another option more seriously. Hence cityhop.

Maya mood boards... these are some more of my maya ideas for my maya brief.
This idea was reaching for it, but i was trying to capture something that would catch the eye of a regular person. So instantly beer came to mind... i was going to some how combine a bottle opener with the design concept of tui beer.

A lineal representation of our short film, the working ideas and generation that comes with it all. I thought I would put a post up of our work area and document how the ideas come and go get morphed into something else until they become something with a life of its own.
I may also add here that we also do some of our film pitches in this area along with a projector presentation of ideas as well.
I think that people tend to underestimate how important it is to have a good work space. For my self it is important to have space for my own thoughts but close enough to others for some good input. So choose well and surround yourself with good people.

Inspiration in many forms for all projects.
JR, a French street artist, uses his camera to show the world its true face. He makes his audacious TED Prize wish: to use art to turn the world inside out. A funny, moving talk about art and who we are. Learn more at insideoutproject.net.

So for this project I am working in a team with Stephen Ticwara. We decided to go on a mission for inspiration and take a walk around the city (Auckland) and see for our selves why the public needs Cityhop. Here is some photographs i took to get the ideas flowing.

Creative Principles and Practice, Year 3
new brief... to create a advertisement for Cityhop... okay so its a little bit more. We have to create an online or smart phone concept that encourages people that live in the city central centres. Auckland, Wellington, Chur... I mean Christchurch.

Model reference images... so i decided to create a key ring jandel. I chose to do this because i thought the curves and miss shaped form would be both challenging and yet simple enough to complete and transform into something else to for full the brief.

Mood boards
These are some of the mood boards I created to try and create the specific feeling for the film, characters and locations
In the film the bathroom plays a big path in the movie so I tried to create a bathroom that would reflect the main characters situations and personality
the farther son relationship will show within the film so to get the most of the emotions from each scene involving this i put together a series of images that would show there relationship before and after.
Our main character has a self destructive habit "smoking" so to get this to relate to the situations that occur in the film we explored the most effective ways to plays these out.

How things have gone so far...
Alright so from the beginning of the project we were quite keen to get into the water and try to capture some awesome underwater footage, in saying that this was our first and overall mistake. what I mean by that is that we wound up thinking what kind of shots we could get... knowing now and should have known then that everything has a certain process... therefore the way we ended up heading in the start was trying to start from the middle of the project I guess one would say. Instead of really sitting down and nutting out a proper story line to begin with...
The problems that this caused was the realisation that we were reaching to high to fast. filming underwater is time consuming, difficult and a real challenge for the best of actors or anybody trying to make a film its just a hassle unless you are fully equipped, funded and prepared for it mentally.
Luckily we are a smart group and we wound up taking this on the chin and taking concepts from our original ideas and slowly but defiantly cracking out a new story line, script and storyboard of shots. So all the work before hand was not a waste of time in which it could have easily have been, we as a team turned it in to a nice refined storyline in which is much more versatile and lending towards a much more visually interesting version of what we were imagining in our minds.
